Statement Regarding FSLiveTraffic Liveries and MSFS

Just moments ago FSLTL put out a statement regarding AIG content being used in their package. AIG has a long history of putting out extremely high quality products and paints. I only began working with them a couple of years ago. Only recently have they put together one of the best traffic addons ever created for the flight sim environment (AIGOCI). With this One-Click Installer it became extremely easy to install AI Aircraft, repaints and flight plans in to the simulation. It greatly increased the immersion in the flight sim. The program is provided at zero cost to the flight sim community!

The launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator threw a curveball into the community. Without getting technical or going into detail it would require a rework of the installer in order to work with the MSFS environment. Current testing is showing positive results. AIG wasn’t the group working on putting realistic traffic into MSFS. FSLTL was also working on a way to install a package on AI aircraft and paints. In order to do this they would package up a model and a paint and provide it for download. If you wanted to do this you would need to get permission from the modeler and the painter to repackage and distribute their work. At no point in the past 3 months has FSLTL reached out to me or any of the other painters or modelers seeking permission to use our work. Only AIG and 1 other company currently have my permission to package and redistribute the paints you find on the site. The paints on the site are our work and our intellectual property. We’ve spend hundreds of hours working on these projects. Again at no point did the creators of FSLTL reach out to myself or anyone with regards to using our work. I would have been more than happy to have a discussion with they even taken a moment to ask. We have no wish to limit our work. The folks over at FSLTL decided to go their own course and assumed we would just go along with their plans. We chose not to because of their lack of transparency.

Website Update

As many of you have seen the site has come under several malware and hacker attacks which has resulted in some unacceptable downtime. Last night the site was down for several hours and came back up early 26AUG. I have decided to add an extra layer of protection through SiteLock. SiteLock is a very reputable service that is employed by small to large corporations. This should help prevent and additional hacking attempts and malware insertions. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments or post replies here.
